I met my late husband, Darren, when I was 19 years old and by 21, we were married. Through 15 years of marriage, parenthood, infertility, ups, downs, ministry and many amazing travels and memories, I felt God's goodness in my life. Darren was truly one of the best people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He gave of himself sacrificially and he was a great Father and husband. We had some bad days, but we also had some amazing days and he was my best friend and he was loved by Kaitlyn and I immensely.
On May 3, 2016, after having major heart issues, Darren went home to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior. Since that fateful day, I have been struggling to figure out God's plan for my life. This has truly been the hardest journey I can imagine experiencing. It is lonely, dark and difficult. During counseling, I realized that writing would be a great outlet for me in my healing. Through my continued writing, I have began to see God's greater purpose in my life. I realize that more people in our world, need to see that there is hope even in the midst of terrible tragedy. I pray that my humble words can be used to help others and bring glory to God.
I now live in Edmond, Oklahoma with my husband, daughter and our 2 dogs and 3 cats (we love animals!). We are far from perfect, but through our separate and shared journeys, God has brought our family to an incredible point in our lives. We are blessed to be involved in a great church, called Life.Church and are able to serve each week on the Host Team. We have great families, great friends and the greatest calling to reach others with God's love. Tragedy and loss has impacted us, but it does not define us, it refines us.
Thanks for sharing in our journey and God bless!
Love, Amy
